Air Traffic Assignment for Intensive Urban Air Mobility Operations

In high-density urban air mobility (UAM) operations, mitigating congestion and reducing structural constraints are key challenges. Pioneering airspace design projects expect the vehicles to fit into structured UAM corridor networks. However, most existing transport networks not capable of handling increasing traffic demand, which is likely cause congestion, complexity, safety issues. To adapt demand current capacity, a novel macroscopic assignment model proposed mitigate organize structure flow. Firstly, designed fitted graph representation. Then, problem based on linear dynamic system formalized minimize factors intrinsic complexity. A two-step resolution method Dafermos’s algorithm introduced efficiently solve this optimization problem. case study carried out two-layer network with intensive operations. The results demonstrate that can successfully low-complexity flow pattern. This approach be used as tool assist navigation service provider in strategic planning for given transportation network.
